Iraida's Story
Iraida recently completed a module of courses for her degree
in Christian Education at Moscow Theological Seminary’s Leninsk-Kuznetsky
learning center. This session included courses in counseling children and
adolescents, apologetics and Christian pedagogy. Here’s what she had to say
about it:
What do you remember most from your recent classes?
Apologetics! Oh, how I
want to speak to everyone in defense of Christ! How much relevant and useful
information I now store in my heart! I want apologetics to become my way of
life, my spiritual condition and my constant readiness of being able to speak
in defense of Christ. I have a great desire to apply my knowledge from all
these classes in my ministry at the Zelenogorsk orphanage.
Tell us a bit about your life in your hometown:
I am the editor of a
Christian newspaper in Siberia. Church leaders write articles and sermons and brothers
and sisters of all ages write their testimonies of God’s glory in their lives.
The newspaper is read by many people, including government representatives and
non-believers. It is how people learn about the Baptist faith.
What dreams or plans do you have for after graduation?
There are two
wheelchair-bound men in my church and a sister with cerebral palsy who have a
great desire to learn more about their faith. I’m planning to share my notes
and teach them about everything I’m learning at MTS. The classes in Christian education
and counseling provide excellent training for work in children’s social care
centers, specifically in Zelenogorsk Orphanage and the Krapivinskoyer social
shelter. I dream about visiting such institutions in America and Germany to
learn about their work in order to serve kids in the Kemerovo region more
effectively. I dream and pray…
Through her studies at MTS,
Iraida is impacting her community with the gospel. Remember to pray for Iraida
and all the students studying at Moscow Theological Seminary in nine learning centers
across Russia.
Thank you for your support of our students, including Albert.
