Changed to Bring Change
An MTS Graduate Mobilizes Russian Youth
"I am glad to inform you of joyful news!" wrote Vladimir Cherkasov, Moscow Theological Seminary graduate,
about the recent youth conference he organized in Siberia. The theme,
"Time of Change" rang true in the hearts of the 70 Siberian youth and
youth leaders who convened in Novosibirsk, Russia's third largest city.
Many committed their lives to Christ and some took to the streets of Novosibirsk, passing out 1,700 New Testaments.
More than 200 young
Christians declared their desire to take part in outreach in the coming
months. Two groups of volunteers will visit Mongolia to serve local
children and interact with Muslims. Another group will work in
orphanages in central Russia and Siberia alongside missionaries from
the United States. Many others will engage in local outreach in Omsk,
Altai, Tomsk and other Siberian cities. Undoubtedly, their passion will
inspire other Christian youth to reach out on both local and global
levels. Vladimir is already excited for the 2011 conference to take
place in the Siberian city of Kemerovo.
This is truly the vision
of Russian Leadership Ministries, training leaders to impact their
communities with the message of Jesus. Please join with us in prayer
for students like Vladimir and their invaluable ministry in their
villages and communities all across Russia.
Thank you for your support of our students.
