Meet Pastor and Moscow Theological Seminary graduate Dmitry Kotov.
He has just opened MTS's latest Regional Training Center in the southern region of Russia near his church in Sudak. It has been Pastor Dmitry's desire and practice to bring healing, restoration, and Biblical training and resources to this region that has been impacted by war and flooded with refugees. Many Christian leaders have stepped forward to join him in this ministry of restoration, but lack the training to adequately lead their congregation. This location will offer its first-ever Bachelor's program in Church Ministry.
The Center, a combination of classroom, kitchen and dormitory, has been prepared and students have been taking entrance exams the first weeks of September. It will be able to house about 25 students who will begin classes in the next week.
Because most ministry workers are not paid in Russia, students undertake the standard Russian Christian practice of maintaining both secular and ministry roles. They will meet for 3 weeks of classroom time, and then return to their jobs, returning again in the next quarter.
Pastor Kotov offers praises and prayers for help in fulfilling all of the Center's needs:
Praise that this Center makes certification accessible to pastors and leaders in this region, meeting an important need!
Praise that this endeavor brings together ministers from across several war-affected regions to study
Pray for completion of necessary educational resources to make the Center most efficient for learning and short-term living arrangements such as basic office equipment, white boards, chairs, tables
Pray for financial support for the many who cannot afford to study
Pray that we may fulfill God's Great Commission through this educational project
